Kids LOVE THIS! I took it to a neighborhood party last night and served it with Fritos Scoops....everyone loved it. I skipped the lettuce because wilty lettuce is gross, and I added a large pinch of chopped cilantro to the sour cream/cream cheese mixture. Also used Chihuahua cheese on top because I had it on hand....yum!

This dish was a big hit at a party ! I substituted the lettuce for homemade guacamole and made homemade salsa with drained canned diced mexican tomatoes, red onions, green chiles, garlic, cumin, chili powder, hot sauce, jalapeno, cilantro.

This is a gret recipe! I've taken it to many different parties and everyone loves it. The only thing that I do is slightly drain the salsa. I found out that it can make the runny if you don't. Kudos!!!

Fantastic taco dip! And so much of it too. The only thing I left out of it, like many others, was the lettuce.

This was the best 7 layer Mexican dip that I ever had. I made a couple of changes. I put a layer of guacamole between the cream cheese/sour cream layer and the salsa layer. I left out the lettuce. This was a huge hit at the party. In fact I ran out of tortilla chips, so people just started eating it plain. Thanks for the recipe.

Made this for my boyfriends potluck at work. They absolutely loved it! It was his second week at work at his new job and now everybody talks to him because of this dip. Even the sup that he had bad blood yesterday kept telling him that it was the most delicious thing he's ever ate and now things are cool.

I made this for my son's 3rd birthday party this past weekend(for the adults) and I didn't even get to try it. I changed a couple of things, because I had it on hand. I used 2 cans of bean dip instead of the plain refried beans. Because of the bean dip, I just mixed the taco seasoning with the sour cream/cream cheese mixture. I was so busy with the party, but the guests said that it was really good. My husband said that the salsa was kind of watery. So, make sure that you drain it a little or get chunky salsa so that it won't be runny. Thanks for the recipe, and hopefully I'll get to try it next time I make it.

Awesome recipe! This is SOOOO good and looks great for a party if you put it in a trifle dish as pictured. To make it a little lower in fat I used low-fat cream cheese, sour cream and cracker barrel 2% cheddar cheese. It was wonderful and everyone loved it! The leftovers the next day were great too.

VERY GOOD TACO DIP!!! Next time I'll have to use a little bit more refried beans and less sour cream/cream cheese mix. Also, I used a 9X13 container and the layers did not have much color contrast definition.

I'd never had a taco dip before, and this one was really tasty. I followed the package instructions on the taco seasoning and cooked hamburger meat with it. I couldn't find refried beans, so I just used a can of pinto beans mashed up. I mixed the mashed up beans with the taco-seasoned hamburger meat. That was my bottom later. On top of that, I added cheese, then the sour cream and cream cheese mixture. Then I added the green onions and salsa (which I strained to remove most of the juice) and the chopped tomatoes. I left out the green peppers because the salsa I used already had green peppers in it. I also left out the black olives just because I don't like them. I thought I would like this dip better warm, so I put it in a 350 degree oven just until the dip was warm/cheese was melted. Then I added finely chopped lettuce to the top. It was quite delicious. I heated some up the next day just until it was warm, and I thought it was still quite tasty. Yes, the pieces of lettuce were warm, but the pieces were so small and the whole thing was so tasty that I didn't really notice that I was eating warm lettuce. I notice a lot of reviewers have left the lettuce off over wilting concerns... but I think the lettuce added a lot to this dip. Who cares if it becomes wilted? Once your guests taste this dip, I highly doubt anyone is going to be worried about the appearance of the lettuce.
